Things To Know Before You Ride
A little preparation before your Sea-Doo FishPro 130 rental helps you get on Sarasota Bay quickly and ready for a great day of riding, sightseeing, and exploring.
COME READY TO RIDE
Please arrive with a fully charged phone and a valid government-issued photo ID or driver’s license. The FishPro 130 has a watertight phone compartment, and we provide a dry bag for small personal belongings.
FLORIDA BOATER SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Florida boater safety & age
You must be 21 to rent the FishPro 130
If you were born on or after January 1, 1988, Florida requires an approved boating-safety certificate to operate. Complete a Florida-approved temporary certificate before check-in and bring it with your photo ID.
Operators under 21 are not permitted on this rental. Passengers must fit the FishPro’s 3-rider / weight limit.
Need the certificate? Use a Florida-approved provider listed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission:

DRESS FOR THE WATER
Sea-Doo recommends that both drivers and passengers wear neoprene shorts or wetsuit-style bottoms while riding. Regular swimwear alone does not provide the same lower-body protection.
Don’t have neoprene shorts or wetsuit-style bottoms? Let us know before your rental and we can provide appropriate riding bottoms.
U.S. Coast Guard–approved life jackets are provided and must be worn by every rider. A hat, polarized sunglasses, and sun protection are strongly recommended for a day on Sarasota Bay.
KNOW YOUR RIDING AREA
The GTI 170 SE is equipped with GPS location tracking. Before you head out, we’ll review the approved Sarasota Bay riding area, channels, no-wake zones, seagrass flats, manatee zones, navigational hazards, and areas to avoid.
Riders are expected to remain within the approved riding area throughout the rental. Stay out of marked seagrass and idle-speed / no-wake zones. The GTI’s Intelligent Debris-Free (iDF) pump helps in bay water, but running aground or through grass can still damage the craft and the habitat.
SAFETY ORIENTATION & CHECK RIDE
Before heading out, every operator receives the required pre-rental safety instruction and on-the-water orientation. We’ll walk you through the FishPro 130 controls, Intelligent Brake & Reverse (iBR), Variable Trim System (VTS), Sport / ECO / slow modes, speed regulator, boarding ladder, and important riding guidelines so you feel comfortable before you start exploring Sarasota Bay.
The FishPro 130 seats up to three riders with a 600 lb combined weight capacity. Please keep group size and weight within those limits.
KEEP AN EYE ON THE TIME
Sarasota Bay has plenty to explore—shoreline, channels, and open water—but remember your scheduled return time. Plan enough time to make your way back comfortably without rushing at the end of your rental.
WEATHER & WATER CONDITIONS
Florida weather and Sarasota Bay conditions can change quickly. Safety comes first. Riding areas, departure times, or rentals may be adjusted when weather, wind, tide, or water conditions make it necessary.
